Sunday with Kids

I'm borrowing my niece today so the offspring can have a playmate. Husband has a gig, so we're left to our own devices today. I'm amazed at the crazy conversations that occur between a 3 year old, a 6 year old and a 34 year old.

We're having sandwiches and the kids are watching Challenge of the Superfriends (yes, ladies and gentlemen, the OLD SCHOOL episodes). An alien uses a crazy beam to make certain object disappear, one of which is the Statue of Liberty.

Niece: The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of our country

Me: Yes it is. Do you know where it is?

Niece: In the ocean.

Me: Yes, but where?

Niece: In the middle.

Me: Yes. (chuckle). It's close to New York.

Niece: It was a gift from France.

Me: That's right!

Offspring
(who has been silent in the conversation to this point): I love lemonade, Mama.

Me: I know you do buddy.

I love the randomness of kids.
